The Boys in Brown were unable to repeat the fine performance against Frankfurt at the weekend as the opening half of the season ended at VfL Bochum, slipping to a 1-0 defeat after 90 hard-fought minutes. Afterwards, the mood in the camp was correspondingly glum.

FC St. Pauli slipped to a 1-0 home defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt in the first league fixture of 2025. Former Millerntor favourite Omar Marmoush notched the only goal of the game on the half-hour in front of a sell-out crowd. The Boys in Brown improved strongly after making a slow start but were unable to convert any of their chances for a point that was well within the bounds of possibility.

FC St. Pauli lost 2-1 at Eintracht Braunschweig on Sunday in a friendly behind closed doors. The second-division outfit took the lead on the half-hour through a Manolis Saliakas own goal, but Under-23 forward Romeo Aigbekaen equalised almost immediately. Robin Krauße grabbed the winner for the home side four minutes from time.
