In front of a sell-out crowd at the Millerntor, the Boys in Brown held the visitors at bay with good defensive work and great passion, but a wonder goal from Jamal Musiala mid-way through the first half decided the game in the record champions’ favour.

RIGHT BALANCE BRINGS 2-0 WIN AT HOFFENHEIM
FC St. Pauli produced a solid defensive performance to secure their second win of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Hoffenheim by two goals to nil. Oladapo Afolayan gave his side a first-half lead before substitute Andreas Albers put the game to bed in time added on.

The Boys in Brown made a great fight of it but were unable to avoid going out of the DFB Cup in Leipzig. After the 4-2 defeat there was frustration in the camp over the ease with which the home side got their goals, but also satisfaction with the performance, especially after the break.
