FC St. Pauli produced a solid defensive performance to secure their second win of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Hoffenheim by two goals to nil. Oladapo Afolayan gave his side a first-half lead before substitute Andreas Albers put the game to bed in time added on.

FC St. Pauli exited the DFB Cup on Tuesday evening after a 4-2 second round defeat at Leipzig. Goals from Yussuf Poulsen (2) and Christoph Baumgartner gave the home side a 3-1 lead at the break, Morgan Guilavogui finding the net for the Boys in Brown. In a strong showing after the restart Eric Smith reduced the deficit on 58, only for Leipzig substitute Antonio Nusa to settle it ten minutes from time.

FC St. Pauli lost 2-1 at Borussia Dortmund on Friday evening. In front of a full house at the Signal Iduna Park, Ramy Bensebaini headed a dominant home side in front just before the break. Eric Smith levelled with a spectacular long-range effort on 78, only for Serhou Guirassy to head the winner five minutes later.
