FC St. Pauli

FC St. Pauli exited the DFB Cup on Tuesday evening after a 4-2 second round defeat at Leipzig. Goals from Yussuf Poulsen (2) and Christoph Baumgartner gave the home side a 3-1 lead at the break, Morgan Guilavogui finding the net for the Boys in Brown. In a strong showing after the restart Eric Smith reduced the deficit on 58, only for Leipzig substitute Antonio Nusa to settle it ten minutes from time.

The Boys in Brown produced a fine performance against VfL Wolfsburg at the Millerntor but were unable to claim their reward in the shape of the first win at home. Afterwards they looked back on the game with mixed feelings.

FC St. Pauli are now winless at home in four after they were held to a scoreless draw by VfL Wolfsburg in front of another sell-crowd at the Millerntor. The Boys in Brown had more of the game and both sides had chances to win it but failed to take them.
