Our Boys in Brown turned in a strong performance against FC Bayern Munich, but in the end were unable to take anything from the game. After the final whistle, our lads looked back on the one hand happy with their own performance, but in light of the result they were understandably disappointed. Here are the post-match comments.

FC St. Pauli produced a solid defensive performance to secure their second win of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Hoffenheim by two goals to nil. Oladapo Afolayan gave his side a first-half lead before substitute Andreas Albers put the game to bed in time added on.

FC St. Pauli exited the DFB Cup on Tuesday evening after a 4-2 second round defeat at Leipzig. Goals from Yussuf Poulsen (2) and Christoph Baumgartner gave the home side a 3-1 lead at the break, Morgan Guilavogui finding the net for the Boys in Brown. In a strong showing after the restart Eric Smith reduced the deficit on 58, only for Leipzig substitute Antonio Nusa to settle it ten minutes from time.
