FC St. Pauli drew 0-0 with second-division outfit Hertha BSC in a friendly on Wednesday afternoon. A crowd of around 2,500 saw an evenly balanced contest in which the best chances fell to Andreas Albers along with Connor Metcalfe and Robert Wagner, both back from long injury layoffs.

After a strong first-half showing by the Boys in Brown in front of another sell-out crowd at the Millerntor, Borussia Dortmund made a better start to the second and secured victory with a decisive double from Serhou Guirassy and Karim Adeyemi.

FC St. Pauli slipped to a 1-0 home defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt in the first league fixture of 2025. Former Millerntor favourite Omar Marmoush notched the only goal of the game on the half-hour in front of a sell-out crowd. The Boys in Brown improved strongly after making a slow start but were unable to convert any of their chances for a point that was well within the bounds of possibility.
