KAUCZINSKI: "ONLY THING THAT WILL HELP IS HARD WORK AND DETERMINATION"

Head coach Markus Kauczinski took time out after training on Sunday to field questions from the Hamburg media. The 48-year-old spoke about the reasons for the defeat against Aue and hinted at changes ahead of the next league game.
Before the morning recovery session began, Kauczinski and director of sport Uwe Stöver talked to the players about the previous day's 2-1 defeat against Erzgebirge Aue. "For us it was simply a question of listening to what the players had to say while putting our views across at the same time," said Kauczinski.
Yesterday's reverse was the third in four matches in 2019, so an analysis of the mistakes made formed the focus of the discussion. "We're not happy with the result or the performance," said Kauczinski. "We're all very deflated. We have to talk about it and get back to a point where we can impose our game. Twenty minutes at the beginning and 30 at the end is not enough to win a game."
The Boys in Brown have put the setback behind them and are already focused on the forthcoming visit of FC Ingolstadt 04 on Saturday (1300 CET), when they hope to show an improvement in form. "We have to get the assurance back in our play," Kauczinski continued. "We weren't as compact as we should be against Aue. We'll work on a few tactical things again now and we might make some changes. We want to find the players who are capable of delivering on the pitch. We have to regain the consistency you need, and the only thing that helps there is hard work and determination."
