After the 3-1 win at Karlsruhe, we noted down what the two coaches and a selection of players had to say at the press conference and in the mixed zone.
Head coach Timo Schultz: "We saw a good game of second division football today. Both teams wanted to get forward, but we were able to create the better chances. Things got a little hectic in the second half as a result of some refereeing decisions and the reaction of the crowd, but that's what makes football what it is. I liked the way we played, how the goals came about is not so important."
Guido Burgstaller: "We created some good chances and so we deserved to win. There wasn't much talk in the dressing room of us not winning away from home, we simply wanted to play our own game like we've done at home recently. We did that very well."
Daniel-Kofi Kyereh: "We knew it would be a high-intensity game today. We started well and put together some good moves towards the penalty area that we didn't see through with the necessary resolve. We can be pleased to come away with a 3-1 win. The heading for the game was that we wanted to focus on our own strengths, which I think we did very well."
Jackson Irvine: "Every time you win away from home it feels like extra points. We had a few difficult moments but coped well as a team. The atmosphere was heated but we had the experience in the team to keep our composure."
Christian Eichner (KSC coach): "We got into the game well in the first few minutes but then our opponents took control. They showed a lot of maturity and quality, though the first goal was obviously frustrating. It's always going to be tough against a side who can then wait for a chance to break, of course. Up front we were never able to lay siege to their goal."
