All change at the helm

Hannover 96 announced the appointment of Kenan Kocak as their new head coach last Thursday. The former Sandhausen boss is the fourth person to occupy the role this year. André Breitenreiter was in post until late January, when he was replaced by Thomas Doll until the end of the season. Following relegation the Reds went into the new campaign with Mirko Slomka in charge, but he too was dismissed early this month. Assistant coach Asif Saric performed a caretaker role in the 4-0 drubbing at Heidenheim before the Lower Saxony outfit opted for Kocak.

Home drought

The appointment of Kocak was not enough to prevent Hannover from extending their winless run at home to seven matches in a 2-1 defeat to Darmstadt 98 on Monday evening. The Lower Saxony outfit have scored just four times in front of their own fans this season, Genki Haraguchi's goal against Darmstadt adding to three from Hendrik Weydandt in previous matches.

Goalscorers

Hannover have the fewest goalscorers of any team in the league along with Greuther Fürth (5). Their 15-goal tally, which includes one own goal, has come from just six players. Hendrik Weydandt (5), Marvin Ducksch (4), Cedric Teuchert (2) plus Julian Korb, Florent Muslija and Genki Haraguchi (one each) have registered their names on the scoresheet so far. In comparison, nine players have found the net for the Boys in Brown.

Bad boys

The 2-1 defeat against Darmstadt left the Reds languishing in 16^th place in the table, though they do top the rankings in another, more ignominious category. Marc Stendera's dismissal for a second yellow-card offence against Darmstadt took the number of Hannover players sent off this term to six following early baths for Marcel Franke (straight red) plus Waldemar Anton, Edgar Prib, Miiko Albornoz and Matthias Ostrzolek (two yellows). The last team to rack up six red cards in the first 14 games of a season was Waldhof Mannheim in 2002/03.

Most goals and assists

Former St. Pauli man Marvin Ducksch, who joined Hannover from Fortuna Düsseldorf in summer, has contributed the most goals (four) and assists (five) for the Reds this season. In terms of his percentage contribution to his team's goals, the striker leads the way across the division. Ducksch has had a hand in nine of Hannover's 15 strikes, i.e. 60 per cent. Hot on his heels in second place is Wehen Wiesbaden's Manuel Schäffler, who has played a part in 10 of his side's 17 goals.

Pace

In Hendrik Weydandt, Linton Maina and Genki Haraguchi, Hannover boast three of the quickest players in the league. Weydandt ranks sixth on 34.96 km/h, Maina ninth on 34.90 km/h and Haraguchi 12^th on 34.87 km/h. The fastest players come from Wiesbaden, however. Sascha Mockenhaupt has been clocked at 35.62 km/h, teammate Moritz Kuhn at 35.57 km/h. Our very own Ryo Miyaichi occupies third place with 35.17 km/h.
