Road to the Bundesliga - Boys in Brown clinch promotion as champions
In the end-of-season run-in the Boys in Brown crowned an outstanding campaign to celebrate the sixth promotion in the club's history. Wins over Hannover and Rostock were followed by the disappointment of defeat in the derby, but that only made the parties after the decisive victory against Osnabrück and the subsequent championship title even more spectacular. Bundesliga, here we come!

Europa League winners Atalanta Bergamo to come to the Millerntor
The final warm-up match before the Bundesliga gets underway promises to be a genuine highlight. Under new boss Alexander Blessin, who will be making his Millerntor debut, the Boys in Brown will play host to Europa League winners Atalanta Bergamo on Friday, 9 August.

Blessin takes charge
FC St. Pauli have a new head coach in Alexander Blessin, who moves to the Millerntor from Belgian cup winners and league runners-up Union Saint-Gilloise. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose any details of the transfer. Blessin has previously coached in Genoa, Ostend and in Leipzig's youth setup.

Muhammad Dahaba signs professional terms
FC St. Pauli have handed defender Muhammad Dahaba a professional contract. The 19-year-old has been playing for the club's Under-23 and Under-19 teams but trained regularly with the senior squad last season. Dahaba also attended the winter training camp in Benidorm earlier in the year and featured in several friendlies for the first team.

Da Silva Moreira joins Nottingham Forest
Eric da Silva Moreira will be a Nottingham Forest player next season. The 18-year-old right-sided defender rose through the club's youth ranks from 2015 and made his senior debut in the 2-0 win at Nürnberg last season when he came on as a late substitute.

Road to the Bundesliga - Boys in Brown pull clear in March only to stutter in April
The Boys in Brown continued to impress in the middle section of the second season half and extended their lead over the first non-promotion place to a comfortable twelve points, despite suffering their second defeat of the season at Schalke. Yet further reverses against Karlsruhe and Elversberg saw the gap close in April, allowing Kiel, who won game after game, to go top of the table.

Friendlies lined up against Bremer SV, Greuther Fürth and Norwich City
The first three friendlies in preparation for the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign have been lined up. The Boys in Brown will face Bremer SV a few days into pre-season in mid-July before taking on second-division outfit Greuther Fürth at training camp. They will also go to Norwich City of the English Championship in early August.

Road to the Bundesliga - key victories, cup elimination and first league defeat
After losing first place in the table on the final matchday of 2023, the Boys in Brown reclaimed top spot with a win at Kaiserslautern when the campaign resumed after the winter break. They went on to claim victory in the top-of-the-bill clashes against Düsseldorf and Fürth but were knocked out of the DFB Cup by the former in between. The Hürzeler XI then tasted defeat in the league for the first time at Magdeburg before returning to winning ways against Braunschweig.

Road to the Bundesliga - Victory at Rostock, snow in the derby and two draws to sign off with
The Boys in Brown went into the final four games of the first half of the season as league leaders. After celebrating an important 3-2 win at Rostock, they let victory slip from their grasp in a derby snowstorm at the Millerntor. The Hürzeler XI were then held to successive draws by Osnabrück and Wehen Wiesbaden to enter the winter break second in the table behind Holstein Kiel, albeit still unbeaten.
