Gutted. The Boys in Brown were in sight of victory in the crunch clash with FC Nürnberg, only for Taylan Duman to level the scores for the visitors in time added on. After the final whistle, the disappointment was etched on the faces of the players as they made their lap of honour, the same went for head coach Timo Schultz at the post-match press conference. His counterpart, Robert Klauss, was not satisfied with the last-gasp point either.

SCHULTZ XI STUNNED BY LATE NÜRNBERG EQUALISER
FC St. Pauli were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Nürnberg on Friday evening. After a scoreless first half Daniel-Kofi Kyereh gave his side the lead from the penalty spot in front of 29,312 fans, only for substitute Taylan Duman to rescue a point for the visitors in the second minute of time added on.

FCN next promotion rivals to visit Millerntor for summit meeting
After last week's 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Darmstadt, the Boys in Brown play host to another side chasing promotion on Friday evening (18.30 CET) in FC Nürnberg, who also suffered a setback last time out, losing 4-2 at home to SV Sandhausen. Both teams therefore go into the game looking for a win to stay in contention in the promotion race.

EFFECTIVE DARMSTADT EDGE CRUNCH PROMOTION CLASH
FC St. Pauli slipped to a 2-1 home defeat against SV Darmstadt on Saturday evening. Luca Pfeiffer and Fabian Holland fired the extremely effective Lilies into a half-time lead in front of a capacity crowd at the Millerntor. The Boys in Brown dominated the proceedings after the interval but squandered several decent opportunities before Lukas Daschner pulled one back nine minutes from time. Unfortunately, it was not enough.

Recent weeks have not gone to plan for FC St. Pauli and SV Darmstadt 98, who have recorded just one win each from their last five outings. FC ST. PAULI AWARDED LICENCE FOR 2022/23 SEASON
There was good news for FC St. Pauli from the German Football League (DFL) this week. The Boys in Brown have been awarded a licence to compete in the second division for the 2022/23 season. Should the club achieve promotion to the Bundesliga, the expected conditions – such as infrastructure measures – have been attached to the licence award.
