GOOD BATTLING PERFORMANCE BUT RASHICA WINS IT FOR BREMEN
The Boys in Brown slipped to a 1-0 friendly defeat against Werder Bremen on Saturday afternoon. Milot Rashica got the goal for the Bundesliga outfit just before the break in front of 500 spectators in Lohne. Timo Schultz’s side held their own throughout and gave little away at the back, but were unable to ward off a narrow defeat.

Makienok joins Boys in Brown
FC St. Pauli have reacted to the departure of Henk Veerman with the acquisition of Simon Makienok. The 29-year-old Dane arrives on a free transfer and has put pen to paper on a deal keeping him at the Millerntor until 30 June 2022.

Veerman completes Heerenveen switch
Henk Veerman has left FC St. Pauli at his own request to return to Dutch top-division club SC Heerenveen. The 29-year-old striker joined the Boys in Brown at the start of the 2018-19 season and made a total of 39 first-team appearances, scoring 17 goals. He also contributed seven assists.

St. Pauli sign Afeez Aremu
FC St. Pauli have added another piece to their squad puzzle with the acquisition of defensive midfielder Afeez Aremu from Norwegian top-division club IK Start on a contract that will run until 30 June 2023. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose any details of the transfer.

Ohlsson focusing on new playing philosophy
The Boys in Brown are at the midway point of their pre-season preparations, having come through the more strenuous part with plenty of graft in the areas of stamina, athleticism and strength. Sebastian Ohlsson, who signed for the club in late August last year, is glad to have been in pre-season from the start and get the three weeks behind him. By the time the DFB Cup and league campaigns kick off, the Swede aims to have reached peak fitness and, along with the rest of the squad, absorbed the philosophy of the new coaching team to ensure the best possible start.

BOYS IN BROWN HELD TO GOALLESS DRAW BY AARHUS
The second warm-up game of pre-season against Danish top-division club Aarhus GF was a high-intensity affair despite ending in a no-score draw. Sören Tengstedt hit the crossbar for the visitors five minutes from time, the closest either side came to scoring.

KICK-OFF TIMES FOR FIRST EIGHT MATCHES ANNOUNCED
The German Football League (DFL) announced the kick-off times for the first eight weeks of the new season on Friday afternoon. The Boys in Brown will start at VfL Bochum on Monday, 21 September (20:30 CET), with the opening home game against FC Heidenheim scheduled for Sunday, 27 September (13:30 CET). Kiel win friendly 2-1 after Kyereh opener
FC St. Pauli slipped to a 2-1 defeat against league rivals Holstein Kiel in the first pre-season friendly. The Boys in Brown were on top in the first half, with Daniel-Kofi Kyereh opening the scoring on 17 minutes. Kiel were the better team in the second half and went on to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Benjamin Girth and Fabian Reese.

FC St. Pauli are pleased to announce another new signing. Midfielder Lukas Daschner, 21, moves to the Millerntor from third-division MSV Duisburg, putting pen to paper on a contract until 30 June 2023. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose any details of the transfer.

Kalla appointed Little Rascals brand ambassador
Jan-Philipp "Schnecke" Kalla is to remain with the club despite hanging up his boots. After a playing career spanning 17 years and almost 350 competitive appearances for the Boys in Brown, the 34-year-old will take up a new position as brand ambassador and employee of the FC St. Pauli Little Rascals (Rabauken), the club's marketing arm for children and young people, from September.
