BOYS IN BROWN AWAY TO UNION BERLIN IN CUP QUARTER-FINAL
FC St. Pauli were handed a trip to Union Berlin in the draw for the quarter-final of the DFB Cup on Sunday evening. The tie will take place on Tuesday, 1 March or Wednesday, 2 March, subject to confirmation by the German Football Association (DFB).

Becker opts not to extend his contract
Midfielder Finn Ole Becker has informed director of sport Andreas Bornemann and head coach Timo Schultz of his intention not to extend his contract with the club, which is due to expire in summer, and to join Bundesliga outfit TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

FC St. Pauli drew 3-3 with Holstein Kiel in a free-scoring friendly on Friday afternoon. Maximilian Dittgen (2) and Simon Makienok got the goals for the Boys in Brown, with Fabian Reese, Julian Korb and Marcel Benger on target for the home side.

BOYS IN BROWN SLIP TO DERBY DEFEAT
FC St. Pauli went down 2-1 at HSV in front of 2,000 spectators on Friday evening. Guido Burgstaller gave the Boys in Brown the lead with half an hour gone, only for Sebastian Schonlau and Bakery Jatta to turn it round for the home side in the second half.

Like the rest of his teammates, James Lawrence put in an excellent performance in the 2-1 DFB Cup defeat of Borussia Dortmund. The Wales international, who along with Jakov Medić kept the highly rated Erling Haaland quiet for almost the entire evening, took time out on Wednesday to field questions from the Hamburg media.
